The general premise of the video is that society as a whole is so glued to their technology, that we're losing sight of the real world.  Everything is constantly focused around technology and other's judgements, and instead of focusing on real problems people are mainly concerned with when their post is going to upload, or where others are headed within their lives.

In my opinion, the video is effective at conveying this message.

I feel that the video is a current examination of society and its social situation right now.  I feel this way because people are always worrying about what others are thinking, or what's popular on social media now.  Instead of seeing how you can help others, it's more of seeing how far you can take it.
